Protected areas

Natura 2000 is an important European instrument for the protection of nature which sets down protected areas both at sea and on land. Autumn 2010 will see the Environmental Protection Act extended to the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and five protected areas in the North Sea will be designated. 

NOGEPA working group

The NOGEPA code of conduct working group will investigate what measures are necessary to practically achieve protection in these areas (nature conservation goals). The working group will create a code of conduct for the activities of the oil and gas sector in and close by protected areas.
